Question: I am eFiling my 941 form there is a 94X Certificate box that pops up and wants my Control Name. What is my Control Name?

The Control Name is the first four characters of your company’s legal business name. The only values / characters that the IRS considers are:

  • Letters A-Z
  • Numbers 0-9
  • a dash delete
  • the ampersand (&) sign
  • or ending with a space " "
